$10,000 to be Awarded to local area schools
Earning for Learning turns money spent at Puente Hills Mall into cash prizes for local schools
City of Industry, CA (August 15, 2007) – Puente Hills Mall officials announced that for the second year in a row, the mall will award $10,000 to local area schools this fall. Puente Hills Mall drives its commitment to children’s education through Earning for Learning, formerly known as Tools for Your School, a partnership program designed to promote and support education in local school districts. Earning for Learning encourages local residents to shop at Puente Hills Mall throughout the months of August and September to earn “points,” and ultimately the chance to win cash prizes, for the school of their choice.
Now through September 30, each dollar that customers spend can be turned into points for the school of their choice. Mondays are “Double-Point Days” and receipts from those select days earn the school double points.Gift card purchases earn Triple Points.Shoppers simply redeem their receipts for points in the mall at Customer Service, located in Lower Level Center Court and designate their points to the school of their choice.
Puente Hills Mall will keep a tally board updated weekly at the mall with a running total of each school’s points. At the end of the contest, the top eight schools will be awarded cash prizes of $5,000, $2,500, $1,000, $500, $400, $300, $200 and $100 respectively. Shoppers have until September 30, 2007 to turn in their receipts at Puente Hills Mall.
The winning schools will be notified by October 12, 2007.
Mesa Robles, last year’s grand prize winner, was awarded $5,000.
Every school in the area is eligible to participate in the contest and is not required to sign-up. Puente Hills Mall encourages residents to show their school spirit by participating in the Earning for Learning program and turn their shopping dollars into money for local schools.
